Blocktower Founder: There is no way to ensure the security of crypto assets

According to CoinMeta, Blocktower Capital founder Ari Paul stated after the recent Coldcard hardware wallet vulnerability incident that "there is simply no way to ensure the security of crypto assets." This incident allowed attackers to steal approximately 1,082.65 BTC (worth about $70.2 million at the time) within 41 minutes. He pointed out that neither self-storing nor third-party storage can provide complete protection. Paul believes that in most developed countries, the legal system is still a more reliable guarantee for financial assets than crypto technology. In response, ShapeShift founder Erik Voorhees argued that the Coldcard incident does not prove that cryptocurrencies cannot be stored securely, but admitted that no storage system is completely risk-free.
