Grayscale: Aave currently has a P/E ratio of only 16.2x (based on earnings over the past 12 months) and 18.1x (based on expected earnings), with a token price of $75.
This is lower than the S&P 500 index (around 24x) and comparable to the valuation levels of large banks, despite its growth rate being comparable to that of fintech companies.

Following a comprehensive review, Aave is phasing out 50 low-adoption asset reserves across multiple deployment environments.
In addition, Aave is systematically ceasing deployments on Sonic, Scroll, zkSync, Metis, Soneium, and Aptos, affecting an additional 25 asset reserves.
As part of this process, 21 expired Pendle PTs will also be phased out, replaced by new expiring assets.
These adjustments collectively affect $98.1 million in supply and $15.6 million in debt.
These measures, in accordance with the new Aave Risk Framework and Technology Asset Listing Framework, reduce Aave's economic and technical risk profile.
Aave will continue to conduct ongoing risk assessments of all assets across all deployment environments.

July marked the first month of growth for the DeFi lending market in 2026.
After five consecutive months of decline, the active loan balance of major lending protocols increased from $20.7 billion in June to $22.2 billion in July (a 7.2% increase).
@aave continued to lead with an active loan balance of $11 billion and a market share of 46.2%. @aave and @Morpho together account for nearly two-thirds of the market share.
Currently, the growth in July appears more like the first attempt at recovery after a prolonged decline, rather than a complete reversal of the trend.

The recent phasing out of low-adoption assets and networks on the Aave platform should not be interpreted as a sign of a shift in attitude towards any L1 or L2 layer. The goal is simply to reduce Aave's operational, technical, and economic risks so that we can focus on more impactful priorities, such as developing existing high-value markets and expanding securities financing.
L2 layers remain crucial for the Ethereum user experience. For example, the Aave App's stablecoin uses an L2 layer as its ledger layer, which will facilitate integration with the mainstream DeFi user base. Similarly, networks like Avalanche play a vital role in bringing RWA (Risk-Weighted Assets) onto the blockchain for institutional business expansion, a historically weak area for Ethereum.
