According to CoinMeta, researchers from the People's Public Security University of China have developed a framework that can detect illegal cryptocurrency transactions with an accuracy rate of about 90%. The research was published in the “Intelligence Journal,” and Dr. Sun Jingchao, the corresponding author, stated that this study provides a precise, scalable, and explainable solution for detecting illegal cryptocurrency transactions. This framework utilizes memory modules and large language models to track money laundering activities targeting the anonymity and cross-border characteristics of cryptocurrencies. In March of this year, the Supreme People’s Procuratorate of China disclosed that throughout 2025, procuratorial authorities had prosecuted 3,259 individuals for money laundering crimes involving virtual currencies and underground banks.
