Progress of the Digital Transparency Act: The Digital Chamber of Commerce CEO Explains Next Steps
2026-08-02 22:27:45
According to CoinMeta, Digital Currency Council CEO Cody Carbone stated that it is not realistic for the Digital Transparency Act to be actually passed this week; the key lies in whether the Senate can initiate the process before time runs out. Two newly submitted drafts of ethical language were drafted by Senators Thom Tillis and Ruben Gallego, with the aim of limiting President Trump's ability to profit from digital assets. Carbone pointed out that the core of the bill lies in ethical issues, rather than just a single topic. The bill itself is 616 pages long and is intended to lay the foundation for U.S. digital asset policy. Carbone also mentioned that if voting does not begin next week, the bill may completely lose the opportunity to be advanced this year.
