According to CoinMeta, the exchange Bitget announced this week that it will cease services for Japanese customers, setting December 31, 2026, as the deadline. All open trades will be automatically closed by that time. The company disclosed this phased closure plan in an official notice issued on August 2, 2026. As of August 3, 2026, Japanese residents were no longer able to open new accounts.
