OpenAI: The next-generation model achieves 10 new accomplishments in the field of mathematics
2026-08-04 03:31:07
According to CoinMeta, OpenAI has recently published a series of views stating that an internal version of its next-generation main model has achieved 10 new results in open problems that have remained unsolved for a long time in the fields of mathematics and theoretical computer science, at a computational cost of approximately $2000 token. These results cover areas such as sphere packing, coding theory, group theory, quantum complexity, lattice cryptography, and extremal combinatorics, including proving the existence of non-sofic groups, as well as making exponential improvements to the bounds of high-dimensional sphere packing. OpenAI also mentioned that they will release the relevant manuscripts, official lean proof certificates, and explanations of the reasoning process for mathematicians to review and further develop related research ideas.
