Alex Padilla: Proposed legislation to ban Trump's media technology companies from selling real-time updates on presidential activities
2026-08-04 17:33:33
According to CoinMeta, as reported by NBC, U.S. Democratic Senator Alex Padilla plans to introduce a bill that would prohibit the president from providing users with a means to obtain public statements or social media posts in advance through paid services. The bill is aimed at Trump Media & Technology Group's paid service, which allows users to receive real-time alerts about content posted by President Trump and other individuals on social media platforms. Padilla stated that public statements by government officials should not be used as a means to sell advanced trading advantages to specific paid users. Trump Media & Technology Group has not yet responded to this legislative plan.
