According to CoinMeta, the global remittance giant Western Union announced that its Stablecard platform, built on the infrastructure of the Rain stablecoin, has been officially launched. Users can directly receive the stablecoin USDPT issued by Western Union and listed on the Solana exchange by Anchorage Digital Bank. They can also use this stablecoin for immediate purchases at merchants that support Visa across the world by integrating with Visa cards, or they have the option to withdraw cash. The initial rollout covers 37 markets, and Western Union plans to expand to over 60 markets by the end of the year. The company stated that the stablecoin will help reduce the need for advance funding in cross-border remittances, improve capital efficiency, and support the launch of more digital financial services.
