Individual investors still hold the most Bitcoin

According to CoinMeta, the latest data shows that individual investors still hold the majority of the Bitcoin supply, surpassing institutional, corporate, fund, and government wallets. Despite ongoing discussions in recent years about institutions swallowing up the Bitcoin supply, the data indicates that individual investors still account for 66% of the market share. Throughout the market fluctuations of the past few years, individual investors have chosen to hold Bitcoin, demonstrating its resilience. In contrast, corporations and funds hold only 7.8% and 7.2% respectively. At the same time, governments hold only 2.1% of Bitcoin. This suggests that, although the media and the crypto industry generally believe that institutions are dominating the market, Bitcoin remains a highly decentralized asset.
