According to CoinMeta, investor Cathie Wood purchased shares of cryptocurrency companies Coinbase Global (Nasdaq: $COIN) and Circle Internet Group (New York Stock Exchange: $CRCL) worth a total of 10 million US dollars over the past week. The asset management firm Ark Invest, which manages Wood, bought 54,776 shares of Coinbase for approximately 8 million US dollars; the shares of this crypto exchange had previously declined due to poor financial reports. Coinbase is now the sixth-largest holding in Ark Invest's flagship fund ARKK, accounting for 4.2%, or about 238 million US dollars. Meanwhile, Wood also purchased 23,070 shares of Circle for 1.4 million US dollars; the shares of this stablecoin issuer fell by 4% last week and have seen a cumulative decline of 25% since the beginning of the year. The shares of Circle obtained regulatory approval from the New York Department of Financial Services at the end of July, allowing it to operate as a trust bank.
