According to CoinMeta, Samsung plans to add native stablecoin functionality to 800 million new Galaxy smartphones through the Samsung Wallet, including savings and payment accounts linked to fiat currencies. These features may also cover tokens such as USDC. The plan is based on Samsung's existing cryptocurrency wallet infrastructure and its nearly 19 million Samsung Wallet users in South Korea. Samsung intends to integrate payments, rewards, and digital assets into a single ecosystem across 61 countries. Samsung holds a 408 million US dollar stake in Upbit operator Dunamu and is advancing the layout of digital asset infrastructure. South Korea is formulating a "Digital Asset Basic Act," and Samsung's related initiatives include support for stablecoins denominated in both US dollars and Korean won.
