According to CoinMeta, the U.S. military stated that the Strait of Hormuz is open to all commercial vessels, and Finance Minister Scott Bessent claimed that an agreement with Iran is close. The U.S. Central Command emphasized on social media that the southern route through the Strait of Hormuz “remains freely open” and noted that they have assisted over 1,000 vessels in passing through the waterway, despite facing “unprovoked” Iranian aggression. Bessent said, “We are in negotiations with Iran, and an agreement may be reached today or tomorrow to open the Strait of Hormuz, moving towards a more normalized situation.”
