Rental fees for "near-exchange" computer rooms soar
2026-08-05 12:47:02
According to CoinMeta, as exchanges shut down their existing local area network (LAN) trading lines and switch to a unified wide area network (WAN) connection method, the rent for data centers located "near" these exchanges has skyrocketed. Currently, around the Jinqiao Data Center of the Shanghai Stock Exchange, the monthly rent for a standard 4000-watt cabinet has risen to about 10,000 yuan, from 7,000 yuan before. Moreover, a "restriction on leasing" phenomenon occurred in March and April of this year. Several quantitative trading firms have confirmed that rental prices have increased several times over. Although it is no longer possible to access the exchange data centers, being close to these data centers still helps to improve trading speeds.
