According to CoinMeta, SoftBank Group is leveraging the vast data resources of Japan's industrial and retail sectors to create an artificial intelligence economy circle. Recently, they announced an investment in 7-11 convenience store operator Seven-Eleven Holdings. Masayoshi Son, President and CEO of SoftBank, stated that the investment in Seven-Eleven "will help support the development of the next generation of convenience stores." SoftBank's telecommunications company and its affiliated payment processor will each invest 100 billion yen (approximately $635 million) in Seven-Eleven. Son said, "We have no intention of operating convenience stores ourselves. We hope to use artificial intelligence and robotics technology to support a new type of retail model."
