2026-08-05 15:58:57
According to CoinMeta, Cherry Studio has released version 2.0. This multi-model AI desktop client has rewritten the underlying architecture, interface, and data system, with the team stating that they have modified over a million lines of code in total. Windows, macOS, and Linux are all available for use, and users on version 1.x can upgrade directly. The new version includes a Agent mode, allowing users to integrate tools such as Claude Code and Codex to perform tasks like researching information, writing documents, creating demonstrations, analyzing data, and modifying code. The required runtime environment is already built-in, eliminating the need to install numerous additional dependencies separately. Version 2.0 also supports multiple windows, split-screen mode, and a local knowledge base, and has optimized long conversations, large folder imports, and historical record loading. Cherry Studio is evolving from a multi-model chat client into a desktop AI tool that integrates research, office work, and programming capabilities.
