According to CoinMeta, Luxembourg is implementing new legislation that grants its financial intelligence unit the authority to issue cross-institutional fraud alerts to traditional banks and cryptocurrency exchanges. The legislation will come into effect on August 8th and aims to address gaps in the crypto sector. Luxembourg will incorporate cryptocurrency exchanges into its emergency financial alert system, expanding the scope of asset freeze notifications to include not only traditional banks but also cryptocurrency exchanges.
