Bank of America expects the Japanese yen to strengthen to 149

According to CoinMeta, analysts at Bank of America stated on Wednesday that, supported by the joint actions of the US and Japanese governments and the expectation that the Bank of Japan may raise interest rates in the coming months, the yen is expected to appreciate by about 6% by the end of the year. The US dollar against the yen (USD / JPY) is expected to fall from the current level of around 158 to 149, with previous forecasts being 152. They pointed out that the intervention measures have raised the threshold for successfully defending the yen and may require follow-up macroeconomic policies, especially an acceleration in interest rate hikes. Analysts recommend taking action in September rather than October to demonstrate the Bank of Japan's determination in addressing the risks of rising inflation.
