US-UK Financial Regulatory Working Group Reaffirms Support for Digital Asset Innovation

According to CoinMeta, a joint statement was issued by the US-UK Financial Regulatory Working Group, reiterating support for the responsible development of digital assets and digital finance innovation. Stablecoins, tokenization, cross-border payments, and AI financial applications were identified as key areas of cooperation. The statement mentioned support for comparable regulatory standards for stablecoins, including cross-border use, similar risk management approaches, and the requirement that stablecoins used as currency be backed by at least one-to-one high-quality liquid assets. The parties also exchanged information on the implementation of the Genius Act and progress in the structure of the crypto market, as well as the UK's wholesale financial market digitization strategy, with plans to hold another meeting at the beginning of 2027.
