a16z: Clear legislation will change the regulatory environment for the US crypto market
2026-08-06 17:00:40
According to CoinMeta, Chris Dixon, the person in charge of a16z and crypto, stated in an interview that the Clearing House Act will change the regulatory environment for the US crypto market. He pointed out that currently, the United States lacks a federal regulatory system specifically responsible for crypto exchanges, but this act will grant SEC and CFTC the corresponding regulatory powers to establish systems for disclosure, anti-fraud, insider trading, and auditing for crypto intermediaries. Taking the collapse of Dixon as an example, he said that if trading platforms meet the same auditing and risk control requirements as traditional financial institutions, the likelihood of similar incidents occurring would be reduced. He believes that a clear regulatory framework will help compliant platforms carry out their business.
