According to CoinMeta, as reported in the Challenger Layoffs report, the number of layoffs in the United States in July decreased to 33,429, with recruitment plans picking up again. Artificial intelligence was cited as the main reason for these layoffs. The number of layoffs announced by employers in the U.S. in July was 27% lower than in June and 46% lower compared to the same period last year, marking the lowest monthly total of layoffs in two years. As of July, employers had announced 477,033 layoffs, which is a 41% reduction from the number of layoffs announced in the first seven months of 2025.
