According to CoinMeta, based on early 2021 monitoring of in, as of August 5, 2026, trackers developed by Cryptoslate show that at least 109 cryptocurrency projects will close, cease operations, or become inactive in 2026. Among them, DeFi projects account for 28, gaming projects for 15, infrastructure projects for 13, Layer-1 and Layer-2 projects for 12, other projects for 11, NFT for 10, and wallets, exchanges, and analytics products for 18.
