According to CoinMeta, and as reported by Bloomberg, Alphabet is seeking to raise up to $25 billion through its latest US bond issuance. The company plans to issue bonds in as many as 10 tranches, with maturities ranging from two to 40 years. This debt financing is one of a series of measures taken by tech giants to fund their costly artificial intelligence (AI) infrastructure construction. It is estimated that large tech companies will spend over $730 billion on AI this year. Alphabet raised its annual capital expenditure forecast for the second time this year at the end of July, further raising concerns about the speed of return on its AI investments. The company also reported its first negative free cash flow in its second-quarter financial report.
