According to CoinMeta, the South Korean government is reviewing a plan on the 7th to set the import ratio of Middle Eastern crude oil at 60% or below within the "Resource Security Basic Plan." This plan is being formulated at a time when South Korea's petroleum industry is suffering a heavy blow. In the first half of this year, the Strait of Hormuz was disrupted due to the Middle East wars, causing crude oil prices to soar. Last year, South Korea's dependence on Middle Eastern crude oil was about 70%, and the goal this time is to reduce it to 60% or below in order to diversify its sources of imports.
