Microsoft Warning: ClickFix Malware Uses BNB Chain to Obtain Attack Instructions
2026-08-07 15:54:55
According to CoinMeta, Microsoft warns that ClickFix malware utilizes BNB chain smart contracts to infect thousands of devices daily. Microsoft Threat Intelligence indicates that a group of compromised websites use ClickFix to lure users and combine it with etherhiding technology to spread malware, targeting thousands of corporate and consumer devices worldwide. Attackers inject base64-encoded JavaScript code into these websites to connect to the BNB smart chain RPC gateway to retrieve attack instructions. Microsoft recommends that users enable Microsoft Defender network, web, and cloud protection, restrict access to Windows runtime dialog boxes and other command-line tools, and warns users not to paste commands from fake verification codes, browser error pages, or advertisements.
