According to CoinMeta, the U.S. Army hopes to lower the barriers for defense companies to enter military test sites, making it easier for them to conduct trials of key weapon technologies. This is the latest move by the Pentagon to drive reform of the military procurement system and replenish the weapon inventory depleted by the war with Iran. The U.S. Army has announced that it will open five test sites to private companies for testing drones, anti-drone technology, long-range missiles, low-cost air defense interceptors, and other weapons and equipment. The Army's goal is to arrange for companies to access the test sites within 30 days of their application submission, whereas currently, the waiting time can be up to 18 months.
