According to CoinMeta, a user David posted on August 7th that while searching for “trezor wallet” on Google, they clicked on a phishing website disguised as Trezor, which resulted in the theft of all their savings. David stated that Google’s sponsored search results led to a fraudulent website that was collecting users’ mnemonic phrases, and it is possible that millions of dollars have been stolen as a result. Shortly after Trezor issued a statement on David, they warned that an increasing number of phishing websites were impersonating the company and reminded users to make sure they were accessing the official website when entering their mnemonic phrases.
