Iran has made public preliminary details of its proposed strategic management plan for the Strait of Hormuz, which includes a ban on hostile parties from using the strait; violators will face fines of up to 20% of the value of their goods. Iran has repeatedly emphasized that arrangements related to the Strait of Hormuz should be decided solely through negotiations between Iran and Oman, and it will not accept any intervention by external forces. U.S. President Donald Trump stated that the United States is participating in negotiations regarding the Strait of Hormuz.
