Bitcoin's implied volatility drops to a new low in 2026

According to CoinMeta, Bitcoin’s implied volatility has dropped to a new low for 2026. This change occurred after U.S. Treasury yields climbed to their highest levels of the year. The head of the Alpha strategy, Jeff Park, recently warned that this situation could lead to sharp fluctuations in Bitcoin. He stated, “Bitcoin’s implied volatility has reached its lowest point of the year, while U.S. Treasury yields have reached their highest. This can only end in one way.” This compression of volatility indicates that the market may be underestimating the magnitude of the next price movement. Bitcoin has been trading within a relatively narrow range over the past few weeks, and its current price is around $64,785.
