According to CoinMeta, Turkish officials stated on Sunday that despite increasing security concerns, vessels are still able to pass through the Turkish Straits smoothly towards the Black Sea. Previously, after attacks on ships in the Black Sea, including those of Turkish origin, Turkish authorities had restricted commercial maritime traffic into the Black Sea. Turkey has issued multiple warnings to Ukraine and Russia regarding the attacks in the Black Sea, urging both warring parties to take measures to ensure the safety of navigation in the region. Turkish Foreign Minister Hakanfidan said that Ankara has conveyed to Moscow and Kiev that they should announce a pause in attack activities in the Black Sea. Turkey has been seriously concerned about the security situation for some time and has therefore implemented some temporary measures, but under the conditions stipulated by the Montreux Convention, traffic is still unimpeded.
