According to CoinMeta, recently an employee from Shenzhen pretended to be a foreign hacker and extorted $87,000 in Bitcoin from his own company. He stole the research and development data from 43 company folders and sent three ransom demands: 0.88 Bitcoins, 0.8 Bitcoins, and $90,000 in USDT. The employee also owed more than $55,000 in online loan debts. Since the company did not pay the ransom, he was ultimately sentenced to 3 years and 3 months in prison.
