According to CoinMeta, and as reported by Japanese media, investors are increasingly concerned about the possibility that the Bank of Japan will raise interest rates faster than expected, which has boosted the yields on Japanese government bonds on Monday. Yields on shorter-term bonds also increased accordingly, with the 2-year bond yield reaching a new high of around 1.620% in over 31 years, and the 5-year bond yield rising to a historical high of 2.090%. As of Monday afternoon, the market's implied probability of a rate hike in September had risen to 66%, higher than the approximately 30% level at the end of last month.
