According to CoinMeta, recently the Bitcoin Red Team stated that artificial intelligence has discovered critical vulnerabilities in hundreds of core projects written by Jason Nelson. This voluntary security initiative used cutting-edge AI models to scan 150 Bitcoin codebases and found more than a dozen vulnerabilities. The CEO of AnchorWatch, Rob Hamilton, stated that the team spent approximately $20,000 on AI services when building the Bitcoin Red Team platform. Hamilton also mentioned that the team discovers one critical vulnerability per hour on average and has reported these vulnerabilities to multiple projects over the past 12 hours. According to developer Calle, the Red Team identified 4,962 potential issues in the first 29.8 hours of operation, of which 720 were considered high-risk or critical. The team did not disclose the affected projects or details of the vulnerabilities. At the time of this announcement, the role of AI in identifying security flaws in the cryptocurrency industry is growing increasingly important.
