According to CoinMeta, the Japanese government is considering using Sakana Fugu for the command and control of the Self-Defense Forces, and has listed it as a candidate for domestic AI. According to reports by The Yomiuri Shimbun, Sakana acknowledges that its Fugu command model was previously trained using Alibaba’s Qwen, but is now using Google’s Gemma for retraining, with plans to replace it with a domestically produced model in the future.
