According to CoinMeta, Iran has announced that it will continue to keep the Strait of Hormuz closed and refuse to reach any future agreements with Trump. As reported by Iranian media and Majid Shakouri, an advisor to Parliament Speaker Ali Khamenei, Iran stated that it will wait until the end of Trump's term in 2029 before resuming negotiations. Shakouri noted, "Trump will not reach an agreement with us. We will accompany him until the end of his term." He added that Iran's strategy is to maintain a situation of "neither war nor peace" through denial, ambiguity, and strategic patience. The conditions for Iran to reopen the Strait of Hormuz remain unchanged: $300 billion in compensation, the release of frozen assets, and the withdrawal of U.S. troops.
