According to CoinMeta, in July 2026, crypto projects suffered losses of approximately $110 million due to hacker attacks. A total of 164 hacker incidents were recorded, with 67 of them resulting in losses of over $1 million each. It is estimated that by the end of 2026, the number of hacker incidents with losses exceeding $1 million could reach 114, surpassing the record of 72 set in 2024. The losses in July exacerbated the pressure on the industry that year. Reports from Blockaid indicate that crypto security losses in the first half of 2026 had already reached $1.1 billion. Ostium lost $23.75 million as attackers penetrated its off-chain infrastructure, while AFX encountered a bridge vulnerability that resulted in losses of $24.15 million in the same month. Immunefi stated that its researchers received a reward of $2.32 million for identifying vulnerabilities in July, representing an 18% increase in the number of reported incidents compared to the previous month.
