BitMart Faced with Bankruptcy Charges Due to Withdrawal Freeze
2026-08-11 02:04:30
According to CoinMeta, BitMart is facing new bankruptcy allegations as the co-founder of OpenGradient stated that their market-making team is unable to withdraw funds locked on the exchange. Matthew pointed out that the team's funds are trapped on BitMart and questioned whether the exchange still has the ability to repay its debts. Matthew also claimed that BitMart was still encouraging token holders to lock in their funds about a week before stopping related services. Although there is currently no confirmed evidence indicating that BitMart has gone bankrupt, these allegations have raised doubts about the exchange's ability to handle withdrawals during its gradual closure process. BitMart began to gradually shut down its global exchange on July 26th, with plans to terminate platform operations by January 31, 2027.
