According to CoinMeta, and as reported by China News Service, fraud cases involving a scheme of "making friends + mining with virtual currency collateral" have emerged in multiple places. Scammers establish trust through long-term chats on social platforms, induce victims to use software such as WhatsApp and Discord, and connect them to fake mining platforms that authorize malicious contracts. Subsequently, they transfer the assets from the victims' wallets. Self-organized statistics by the victims show that there are currently over 30 people in the rights protection group, with known losses exceeding 3 million yuan. In some cases where an individual's loss exceeds 300,000 yuan, the police have already filed cases.
