According to CoinMeta and research by TrendForce, JPMorgan raised its forecast for TAM storage from 2026 to 2028 by 4% to 8% in a research report on August 9th, suggesting that the supply-demand gap will continue until the end of 2028. JPMorgan also projected that SOCAMM memory will be halved from 1.5TB to 768GB, and Rubin Ultra will be downgraded from 16- hi to 8- hi /12- hi HBM4E. JPMorgan views this as a temporary measure for customers to cope with the shortage. AI CPU shipments are expected to offset the reduction in per-unit capacity with a compound growth rate of 155%. DRAM ASP has been rising for 20 consecutive quarters year-on-year. Samsung aims to allocate 60% to 70% of its production capacity to LTA, SK Hynix signed contracts with about 10 customers, and Micron completed 16 SCAS, with upfront payments accounting for 20% to 25% of the total value of LTA. JPMorgan expects the average mixed price of HBM to rise by 42% year-on-year in 2027, and Samsung's HBM order share is expected to reach 37% to 38% from 2027 to 2028. Samsung and SK Hynix are expected to achieve cash yields of 16% to 20% in the next two years.
