According to CoinMeta, Pokémon cards are gradually becoming an emerging market for alternative assets and tokenization. This year, the price index of Pokémon cards has risen by about 28%, while the S&P 500 has risen by about 13% during the same period, and Bitcoin has fallen by about 29%. The global trading card market is currently valued at around $10 billion to $15 billion, and it is estimated that in 2025, the transaction volume of cards on only one platform will reach $2.62 billion. With the growing demand for collectible trading, several crypto platforms have begun to host physical cards and map them one-to-one to blockchain tokens. Among them, one platform had a trading volume of about $139 million in the past 30 days, and another had a volume of about $77.8 million. However, research institutions point out that currently, some of the trading volume on the blockchain comes from gamified card packs and instant repurchases, so liquidity is still significantly weaker than that of traditional markets.
