According to CoinMeta, the U.S. Treasury Department and the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) proposed regulations this week regarding how to contribute to Trump accounts, also known as 530A accounts. This new tax-deferred investment option allows parents to contribute from pre-tax wages to the accounts of their minor children, with employers also being able to match those contributions. Treasury Secretary Scott Branson stated that Trump accounts provide American families with a new way to build wealth from the start. Under the proposal, employers can contribute up to $2,500 per year in tax-free amounts to the dependents of their employees. To date, more than 50 companies have pledged to contribute to their employees' Trump accounts.
