According to CoinMeta, the second-quarter financial report released by eToro shows that it incurred a loss of $7.2 million in crypto trading, which is a nearly 120% decrease from $37.7 million in the same period last year. The platform's revenue from crypto assets was $1.35 billion, a year-on-year decline of about 29%. eToro stated that it is developing on-chain perpetual contracts and expects the ability to purchase crypto to “arrive soon.” However, the company’s crypto trading activities have cooled down, with 1.4 million crypto transactions reported in July, a year-on-year decrease of 73%. eToro’s net contribution increased by 9% year-on-year to $229 million, mainly driven by stock trading, and the number of funded accounts increased by 18% to 4.28 million. eToro also announced that it will acquire the American brokerage firm TradeZero for up to $231 million in cash and stock, with completion expected in the first half of 2027.
