CME Plans to Expand 24/7 Silver Futures Trading to Attract Retail Investors
2026-08-13 05:02:24
According to CoinMeta, and as reported by Bloomberg, the CME group is preparing to expand its 24/7 trading hours to include 100-ounce silver futures contracts, subject to regulatory approval. This decision was made following the recent launch of all-day trading for one-ounce gold futures contracts. Jin Hennig, the group's global head of metals, explained that strong retail demand and significant trading volume for gold futures over the weekend, exceeding $200 million in notional value, drove the decision to extend 24/7 trading to silver as well.
