According to CoinMeta, as reported by RBC, several Russian banks have requested corporate clients to disclose the economic purpose of purchasing USDT and to confirm that the counterparty is listed in the central bank's digital asset exchange operator registry. Since this registry has not yet been established and the relevant regulatory details are still being formulated, the banks' requests cannot be met at a legal level. Lawyer Elizaveta Lobuteva stated that such requests are part of routine compliance reviews and preparations for potential future regulatory changes.
