According to CoinMeta, South Korea will expand the registration review scope for virtual asset service providers from August 20th to include their major shareholders. If there are changes in the major shareholders or the company's legal compliance framework, operators must notify the financial authorities 30 days in advance. The Financial Intelligence Service of South Korea (FIU) and the Financial Supervisory Service (FSS) announced a revised registration manual at a briefing on August 13th. The review will cover the largest shareholder, major shareholders holding more than 10% of the shares, and shareholders with special affiliations to the largest shareholder. If the largest shareholder is a legal entity, then that legal entity's largest shareholders and representatives will also be included in the review scope.
