DBS: Expect the Fed to remain inactive until the end of 2026, with two interest rate cuts in 2027
2026-08-13 20:31:56
According to CoinMeta, an analyst from Dahua Bank, Alvin Liew, expects the Federal Reserve to maintain interest rates unchanged until the end of 2026 and to cut rates twice in 2027, by 25 basis points each time, ultimately bringing the federal funds rate down to around 3.25%. Market expectations for a rate hike in September have declined, with the baseline scenario being a continuation of the pause throughout 2026. Although the reports from CPI in June and July made the outlook for FOMC more balanced, risks remain slightly on the upside due to geopolitical and energy-related uncertainties, so vigilance towards policy tightening is maintained.
