According to CoinMeta, Goldman Sachs (NYSE: $GS) announced the acquisition of Neos Investments for a transaction amount of up to $2.25 billion. Neos is an asset management company that manages $1.1 billion in high-yield ETF (BTCI) investments in Bitcoin. This transaction is expected to increase Goldman Sachs' active ETF assets to approximately $80 billion, with total ETF assets exceeding $130 billion. BTCI does not directly hold Bitcoin but invests in spot Bitcoin exchange-traded products and employs a covered call option strategy to generate monthly income. Goldman Sachs' collaboration with Neos will put it in competition with Blackstone (NYSE: $BLK), which also offers Bitcoin-income generating ETF. A Goldman Sachs spokesperson stated that this acquisition marks the official beginning of a new phase, aimed at addressing more complex issues such as how to generate income from Bitcoin's volatility.
