According to CoinMeta, and as announced by the official BNB Chain, BNB Smart Chain will activate a hard fork of Pasteur on the mainnet at 10:30 am on August 25th (UTC +8). Mainnet nodes need to be upgraded to the v1.7.7 client before this time. This upgrade will enhance cross-chain bridge verification, validator key rotation, and governance security through BEP-682 and BEP-695, and it will also increase the block transaction capacity via BEP-675. Test network data shows that, with the block time and gas limits remaining unchanged, the throughput has increased from 1,237 tps to 2,324 tps. However, these figures are not yet representative of the actual performance on the mainnet.
