According to CoinMeta, in the first half of 2026, the crypto industry raised a total of $11.2 billion, but not a single dollar went towards unlicensed and unregulated digital asset experiments. Dubai-based crypto lawyer Irina Heaver stated that the data indicates that “the era of unlicensed crypto has ended.” During this period, there were 377 rounds of financing, with $3.7 billion raised in the fields of payment and stablecoins, and it is predicted that the market raised $2 billion, while crypto exchanges and trading platforms raised $1.7 billion; all of these require regulatory approval. Heaver pointed out that funds are no longer pursuing unlicensed projects but are turning towards regulated enterprises.
