BIP-110 Fork Chain Faces Survival Challenges

According to CoinMeta, since Bitcoin split into its BIP-110 fork on August 8th at block 961632, it has been facing a long struggle for survival. Small Roughnecks mining pools have been consuming scarce computing power on a chain with almost no transactions, and in the past seven days, only four blocks have been mined. Now, supporters of BIP-110 are preparing for a bigger bet: abandoning the dual SHA-256 and turning to use the Blake2b proof-of-work (PoW) protocol, which is adopted by only a few projects.
