According to CoinMeta, Payward (the parent company of Kraken) reported that its adjusted revenue for the second quarter of 2026 was $508 million, a year-on-year increase of 17%, but its adjusted EBITDA decreased significantly to $23 million. In its financial report disclosed on August 14, the company noted that despite growth in other financial products, weak spot trading still had an impact on overall activity. The total platform trading volume of Payward reached $310 billion, a year-on-year decrease of 18%. The company stated that this decline was attributed to the weakness in crypto spot trading volumes, while traditional futures, stocks, and tokenized stocks saw growth during the quarter. Payward also reported that the number of funded accounts reached 6.6 million in the second quarter, a year-on-year increase of 42%, setting a new record high.
